Hon. Tom Zakari, Ph.D is a distinguished public servant, accomplished economist, and seasoned policy strategist with a proven record in governance, security administration, and legislative service in Kogi State combining technocratic competence with grassroots political insight.
He holds a B.Sc, MBA, M.Sc, and Ph.D in Economics, underpinning his reputation as a thoughtful policy thinker and results-driven leader. As a Visiting Lecturer to federal universities, he has shaped professionals in economics and public administration, reflecting a lifelong commitment to knowledge, innovation, and national development.
He served as Special Adviser on Inter- and Intra-Party Affairs and later as Special Adviser on Security and Boundary Matters to Ibrahim Idris, strengthening political stability, managing complex security issues, and fostering cooperative intergovernmental relations.
As a member of the House of Representatives (2011–2015, 7th National Assembly), he delivered pragmatic lawmaking, effective constituency representation, and policies advancing economic growth and social development.
